In 1994, Bertie Lubner and Chief Rabbi Cyril Harris set out to uplift South Africa’s youth, driven by a shared belief in opportunity, dignity and community. What began as urgent aid and skills training soon became a movement, uniting visionary leaders like Herby Rosenberg, Ann Harris, Arnold Forman, Jack Tworetsky and Benny Reich.
Nelson Mandela saw the power of their work and joined as Patron-in-Chief, championing their mission to empower young South Africans. Today, Bertie’s son Marc Lubner, continues this legacy—ensuring that education, skills and opportunity remain within reach for those who need it most.
